Gelato
What is Gelato?
Gelato is Italian style ice-cream. There are three types:
1. Sorbet
clear base combined with fresh natural fruit.
2. Ice-cream
milk base combined with quality indulgent ingredients.
3. Frozen Yoghurt
yoghurt base natural or combined with fruit and/or nuts.
How is it different to ice-cream?
Gelato is:
1. Made fresh daily
it only has a reduced shelf life as we don’t add preservatives.
2. Less Fat
We use milk not cream or butter fats. Milk has less than 4% fat content compared to cream, which has a 25-50% fat content.
3. Less Air
Some commercial ice creams are 80% air.
4. Fresh ingredients
We use lots of fresh fruits and nuts.
